When we stay at Heron House, no visit is complete without at least one visit to The Bottle. Its close to the cinema and has a great selection of wines/cheeses/charcuterie. Its a perfect place to while away the hours.

The number one surfing beach in the UK, famed for its perfect sand and great waves. Its just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre or 10 minutes from Heron House. Fistral Beach has great bars and restaurants too.
This restaurant is right on the beach and is nearly always fully booked. If you are booking Heron House, I seriously recommend booking The Fish House at the same time. The restaurant is tiny, but produces incredible food time after time after time.

When the tide is out (on a low tide), you can walk across the Gannel to Crantock or walk up the estuary to 'wavey', Crantock Beach. Its a huge beach with golden sands - you could easily think you were in the Carribean. Dont forget the picturesque village, quaint church and thatched Old Albion pub
Heron House is just 50metres from the Gannel, meaning that all guests have 'on the doorstep' access to the most beautiful estuary in the UK. The Gannel has a very big tidal range of around 7metres, so it can be a really low tide, allowing you to walk the whole length of the estuary, or a full 7.5metres - so you will see dozens of paddleboarders, parasailers, kayakers and swimmers.
